CTS employs a range of techniques for pipeline condition surveys, including Close Interval Potential Surveys (CIPS survey), Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG survey), Pipeline Current Mapping (PCM) for coating evaluation, External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA), soil analysis and SRB testing.

CIPS is a technique used to measure the electrical potential along a pipeline to identify areas where the cathodic protection system may be underperforming, indicating potential corrosion risk.

DCVG is a method used to locate coating defects on buried pipelines by measuring voltage gradients in the soil above the pipeline. It helps pinpoint areas where the pipeline coating may be compromised.

PCM involves injecting a low-frequency current into the pipeline and measuring the resulting magnetic field. This technique helps detect coating defects and areas of corrosion by mapping the current distribution along the pipeline.

ECDA is a systematic process used to evaluate the likelihood of external corrosion on a pipeline. It combines data from various surveys and analyses to assess the pipeline's condition and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

Soil analysis helps determine the corrosive properties of the environment surrounding the pipeline, while SRB (sulfate-reducing bacteria) testing identifies bacterial activity that can contribute to corrosion. Both are crucial for understanding the external conditions affecting the pipeline.
